Race Forward’s Government Alliance on Race & Equity (GARE) aims to provide resources and tools to empower government professionals to be proactive advocates for racially equitable outcomes within their organizations and communities. The GARE Racial Equity Tool serves as a framework for discerning if policies, practices, and procedures are contributing to inequitable outcomes. The Racial Equity Tool, Step 5: Implementation Planning/REAPs module can help you identify the necessary parts of an overarching racial equity action plan for racial equity work in government.The Learning Objectives for this course are:
1. Identify the purpose of an implementation plan (e.g., racial equity action plan).
2. Recognize who needs to be involved in the development of an implementation plan, such as a racial equity action plan.
3. Explain when implementation planning (e.g., racial equity action plan) should be developed in a racial equity tool process.
4. Identify the necessary components of a racial equity action plan.
5. Identify the necessary resources which support the implementation of a racial equity action plan.
6. Identify performance measures that can be used to monitor the progress of implementation of a racial equity action plan.

Shifting to an Equity Mindset (Part 2) is a brief (~20 min) self-paced online learning module which provides ideas for fostering and maintaining an equity mindset. It builds on the Shifting to an Equity Mindset (Part 1) course, which provides foundational knowledge for shifting to an equity mindset in government work. Both modules need to be completed in order to obtain the certificate of completion at the end of the Shifting to an Equity Mindset, Part 2 module.

Many of these modules are currently in development; please keep an eye out for future self-paced courses in the GARE Learning Center, such as additional online modules on the components of the Racial Equity Tool.
